January 5: North Korea announces they successfully tested a hydrogen bomb and South Korea admits detecting “artificial earthquake” in North Korea.

  • How much do you want to bet it was a weapons test for the Iranians. N. Korea desperately needs oil, and I'm sure Iran would be all to happy to supply some for something like that.

  • Our former governor, $Bill Retardson, has been in the news today claiming it couldn't have been a h-bomb. He claims the bomb was "only" a 6 megaton bomb and most h-bombs are 20 megaton so the report cannot be true. While this was going on he was getting ticketed for a hit and run accident in Santa Flush so how the hell would he know? That drunken boob gets more irrelevant every day.

    • I ran into him in the Reno airport. He was running for president so it was, what, 2008? What an asshole. I don't know whether he was arriving or departing but he was going through the airport by the baggage carousels trying to shake people's hands and talk to them about his campaign. Nobody just off a plane, tired from traveling, anxious about their luggage, wants to talk to a politician! The response was not enthusiastic.

      He had a couple aides out in front making sure he hit the right people, asking us whether we were Democrats, because God forbid he run into someone who disagrees, ya know? When I told the aide I was not just a conservative but an ornery opinionated one, he made sure Mr. Richardson didn't come in my direction and try to shake my hand.

      • $Bill is an asshole deluxe. I attended a few political bashes in Santa Fe when he was governor and I can tell you for a fact Ted Kennedy had nothing on Retardson. The La Posada, a very exclusive hotel in our capitol, kept a suite reserved for him in case he got to drunk to make it out the door. Which happened quite often.

  • Just another part of the world seeing how much they can get away with, since America is no longer a threat. Way to go, Barry...hell of a job yer doin'...

  • Did the White House say North Korea doesn't have an H-bomb? Did they say that? They meant that week. They didn't have one yet that week. This is almost four weeks later--that's a whole month! All bets are off!
