  • Fuck the players and their union.
    Like whiskeyriver said, shut the whole thing down, declare bankruptcy, and rename the league. It will invalidate the contracts, and if the crybabies want to work, they'll have to follow a new set of rules.

  • Football is dead to me. I didn't watch one game last year and I will not watch one this year. Once the World Series is over I'll go fishing or watch NASCAR. I might even sink so low as to learn how to play golf. I wonder if astroturf will work as a green in the middle of a pasture?

      • What I think would be funny as hell would be all the team owners getting together and talking about closing the entire mess down. Team owners know they are losing money on ad revenue, fewer watchers on television. They know they are losing money because of lower ticket sales. And losing money on concession sales with fewer people in the stands. They are losing money on jersey, cap and coffee cup sales. Memorabilia sales are way down and all of it adds up to big money.

        So here is what they can do. Every team declare bankruptcy and lock the doors. That makes all player contracts useless, the millionaire crybabies would be standing on the streets wondering what hit them. All the union contracts would be null and void. Roger Goodall and all his minions would be gone. Every coach, manager, recruiter and office secretary would be out of work. Every zebra would be gone. Then start all over.

        Owners could call it the American Football League and set their own rules. This is what we will pay, this is what we will not put up with, sign this contract or hit the street. Nice simple football again like we grew up with.

        • Great in theory, however the absurd tax code will protect these f***ers for YEARS of revenue loss. A second term of Trump and a conservative Congress will fix that! #MAGA 🇺🇸

          • I don't know they have all that much money. Look at the homes they live in and the cars they drive. Payments on that stuff is not cheap and for many they may be broke in a year.

          • Lol...They are huge corporations, they probably run close to or in the red every year. That is what high powered accountants are for, to get all the write offs possible come tax time. Guys like Jerry Jones and Trump do not own anything. Not a home, a car, a 747, nothing. They are owned by corporations and leased back to them for a pittance and the corporation gets a tax break.

            Anyway, look at it this way. Every basketball team owner, hockey team owner, baseball team owner, they are all filthy rich. It takes a ton of money to field a sports team so who is going to do it? A rich guy or a corporation made up of several rich guys. Way the world works kiddo, always has.
