Now California state wants to ban sale of encrypted smartphones. If you like your encryption you can keep your encryption. The libtards in Sacramento want to ban everything except taxes. Too bad they don’t start with themselves.

Well, fine, but only if ANY Cal gov't employee or elected official busted with an encrypted cell phone is criminally charged, a felony, with a minimum 5 year sentence, & loses his/her pension.
How will they enforce said ban? One can drive across state lines and buy one, or order online.... I can also get family/friends to buy one on another state and send it to me.

The enduring lesson with these cretins is that if their ideas are shot down they will not give up... and while this mainly applies to "revenue enhancements" (taxes) it also applies to regulation. Only when progressives not only get thrown out en masse but in some cases also face Constitutional violations charges, will be the sign that people in general actually get it..
And the progressives I allude to go well beyond government officials, but also judges, school administrators, board members, etc. The cancer is profoundly invasive and the cure absolutely must be comprehensive.

Right to privacy? That's not in the Constitution(except when it is, like Roe vs Wade).
Although the right to privacy isn't mentioned, I believe there's something there about being secure in papers and effects. Digital files are now considered the equal of personal papers and effects. Should it be illegal for me to transcribe all of my records in code, and refuse to give up the code to the government?
That's not in the Constitution.
Warrentless searches are banned by the Constitution. So if you want to get someone's data, you have to go to court, present your evidence and create a record of your action. Or, you could do this:
