OPINION: Comey didn’t commit a crime — neither did Donald Jr. Alan Dershowitz gives his perspective on both. We agree Comey didn’t commit treason, but if he handed out Top Secret memos to someone with no clearance we believe he could be in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 798 – Disclosure of classified information.
The crime of treason is explicitly defined in the Constitution as limited to the following conduct: “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” (Emphasis added.) It does not include receiving aid from a Russian lawyer, whether that lawyer was acting in a private capacity or as a surrogate for her government.

Once he was fired, he no longer had Original Classification Authorities either. He couldn't declassify FBI material.

Meeting with someone about something and in the meeting there is talk about information about an opposition candidate and it is discussed... What is the problem? Where is the illegal or the immoral act?
Am I really to believe no one ever has had discussions or intel gathering about opposition? Really? People do that everyday in both the private and political sectors. That is exactly what Hillary did and how she found out about Obama going to Madrasas and being raised as a Muslim essentially in another country. She put that out there and the whole Muslim thing/He may not be an American thing came from that.... so was it illegal or immoral? No.
What exactly is the issue or implication? He spoke to a Russian person about something AND she said she had information about Hillary and he heard her out... Okay... and?
Oh and information says that it may have been a set up as the Russian lady works for a Clinton company or a company associated with the Clinton foundation.
Completely agree that Comey didn't commit treason, but he probably mishandled classified information. And his claim that Hillary shouldn't be prosecuted because there wasn't intent falls apart in his case--he released classified information to someone not cleared to possess it with the specific intent of causing a special prosecutor to be appointed.
Prosecute him.
