  • I can't say that I blame these people and corporations for trying to avoid oppressive taxes, if I had that kind of money, I would do the same.
    Kimmy makes a good point, how all of our income is taxed over and over again. Not to mention the other ways we are double and triple taxed. Look at alcohol and tobacco. We have to pay federal excise taxes on these products, then there is state tax, and then sales tax! I was under the impression that it was illegal to tax you on a tax, but here, we are paying a tax on a tax, then another tax on 2 other taxes. I thought this country was founded on the opposition to abusive taxes, but now we have our own government taxing our asses off!

  • I see this with very different eyes. Most of this whole "hiding assets" things is bullshit. Yeah yeah there are always people that do wicked things, but this is not the majority of the cases. Most if not all of the money that the wealthy "hide" has ALREADY been taxed. They buy items with that money which is taxed. They build businesses with that money which is taxed. They want to leave money that has already been taxed to their families... which is then taxed AGAIN! [Basis of the gay marriage thing by the way]

    I don't see why investments and savings and retirement and estate and EVERYTHING should be taxed MULTIPLE TIMES!. That is theft. If people loose money in investments, in their businesses, etc... who pays them back? Nobody. They go without their money, but they make money due to appropriate business or investment decisions and they need to be essentially punished for being lucky or wise in their investments with crazy taxation???

    This hate the rich and eat the rich mentality is the basis of the loser ass "give me give me because I am entitled" bullcrap that is plaguing this country (and the world).

    I ain't never been hired by a poor ass person or a company that has no money to pay me. Businesses and individuals that want to live big and they need to hire people to work for them need that cash and that money to do what they need to do and if they need to stash it someplace so it won't get taxed out of existence, then bitch that is what they need to do.

    If you are a broke ass, don't be hating on those that aren't. Unless you want to live in a country like Cuba where most businesses are owned by "the people" = the few elites in the government system, this is what the capitalist game looks like. Yes again a lot of people do bad things and they game the system and it is not "fair" for a lot of people. So?

    So play the game!...play the game and if you win you should keep your ALL your money to do with it what you want because that is what it means to be free and pursue your happiness. The government should get its cut (to manage appropriately and for the right purposes of government) when that money is no longer in your possession and it is not quite yet in the possession of the person you are exchanging goods or services with. That is to say, the exchange has a predetermined percentage that goes to the state and the receiver pays the state or the cut is done for them through electronic exchanges. The state then takes a percentage and pays that to the government. No money should be given to the goverment because you earned it working, won it fair and square, were wise with your money decisions or because you are dead and you wanted to leave money for your family! That is insane!

    Taxation on any income or any gains is theft. The government is not G-D! Even then the Lord YWH only demands 10%! You can give more if you want to of course out of a cheerful heart without compulsion, but He is so awesome in His abilities to provide that He is like: "Give me 10% and keep 90%" I mean for real... That is BEYOND awesome...

    ... and the human goverments be like: "TAX EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE, ANYTIME, MULTIPLE TIMES (and it doesn't matter if you lost your money or you are dead)"

    That's right there is whack! AND Evil...
