Members of Congress certainly need protection from their disgruntled constituents, but they don't deserve it.
They should be forced to pay for their protection. It should come out of their paycheck, like say, union dues would. If they believe they need it, they should pay for it out of pocket.
Charlie feels that he is above the US Constitution and those who where stupid enough to vote his cheating ass into office. The 2nd Amendment is there in particular to prevent ass holes like Charlie from ever gaining total control. A disarmed populace is nothing more than slaves.
