Super Flu or a Mild Cold? Interesting read on the coronavirus.
With symptoms ranging from a gasping death to nothing at all, one has to wonder whether COVID-19 is a super flu or a mild cold. Have we ruined our economy over nothing or saved millions of people from death? If COVID-19 is a mild cold, how did we mistake it for a super flu?

The media is stoking hysteria.
Now we have another reason for the high mortality rate in Italy. It's a statistics problem, more precisely a labeling difference in mortality causes that skews the statistics. I remember the same sort of problem when we were all debating Obamacare. Everybody kept saying the U.S. had a higher infant mortality rate than other countries. Which statistically we did. But it turns out other countries do not consider babies who die during childbirth to be infant mortalities, whereas the U.S. does. Subtract those babies who do not survive birth, or add them to the numbers in other countries, and we actually had the best infant mortality rate in the world.
Similarly, Italy has a high mortality rate from coronavirus because they label any death of a patient who tests positive for the virus as a death caused by coronavirus. Every one. If you test positive for the virus and get in a fatal car accident on the way home, they call that a coronavirus death. Consequently their mortality rate is skewed way high. Many of these people testing positive were older and already dying of something or other. If I'm on hospice care and have days to live, if I catch the coronavirus in my last hours of life, it's not the virus that killed me.
Since anywhere from 3000 to 49,000 die in the U.S. during a typical flu season, we've got a long way to go before we consider it anything other than a "mild cold". Just a few years ago, about 80,000 Americans died from the flu and it's complications. Check this out from lib. CNN: https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/26/health/flu-deaths-2017--2018-cdc-bn/index.html
This whole thing appears to be shaping-up to be another Y2K situation - another big fat nothing burger.
I think it will fall closer to the "mild cold" end of the spectrum when all is said and done. We live in an age when the Deep State loves to fear monger. Every year we seem to have some kind of deadly new disease that is going to shake the foundations of civilization. Remember what a dud Swine Flu turned out to be after all the scare mongering? (Swine flu and the prisoner’s dilemma)
Their obvious goal is to increase government control of our lives and oh my goodness! look how much control they have grabbed in the last two weeks!
Quick point we should all notice: so far, the repercussions of what the coronavirus has done to the world is miniscule compared to the enormous damage the governments of the world have done.
