• Ginsburg had the chance to leave the court when barky was President. She chose to remain on the bench, now her seat is vacant and President Donald Trump has the obligation to make a nomination for the seat. Its VERY CLEAR in the US Constitution who selects the judges and who confirms them. So all you weak kneed RINOS need to remember President Eisenhower actually did a recess appointment to fill a vacant seat on the court in 1956 just before the election. So there is precedent for filling a seat just before an election.

  • Ginsburg herself said that the Senate should do its job when justices are nominated, even if it is an election year. I guess she only meant when it's a nominee from a Democrat president.

  • The judge most mentioned is Amy Coney Barrett. She will make an excellent Supreme Court Justice. What is disturbing is Ruth Buzzy’s dictated letter that was released saying she didn’t want her seat filled by this president. The justices don’t get to pick which president fills their vacancies. The US Constitution dictates that. Something Ginsberg seemed to forget and twist to her legal logic.

• Well, God have mercy on her, she is answering now for her lifelong passion for killing babies. Something tells me that clever legalisms and feminist slogans about owning your own body are not going to suffice in this discussion.

• The President should allow her to lay in state, let the family grieve, pay his respects. Then do exactly what the US Constitution says he can do. Nominate her replacement. With the election in 46 days, there won’t be a confirmation hearing until afterwards. The president has his list, on that list is Judge Amy Coney Barrett. A woman, a mother of 7 who has done exactly what the left fears most. Made it on her own.

  McConnell needs to show that he’s a leader of the Senate and can keep the likes of Romney, Collins and Murkowski in line with the President and not with Chuck U and all the other dips in the Senate.

• Interesting: there are several weak Republicans who might ask for an after election vote in order to prevent a nomination from hurting their chances. Such as Susan Collins.
