  • One more than I am gone. I know I have posted this video before but I want people to remember that many vets out there have problems. They are homeless, lost their families, lost themselves, and they need our help. Over 5,000 veterans committed suicide last year alone. Almost a million vets are homeless. We can support welfare patients but we cannot support veterans? What kind of crap is that? I am a vet, I have been fighting for veterans rights for a lot of years. And it chaps my ass to no end to see elected officials worried about illegal aliens and not about all us who have fought because we were ordered to by our government. And the many that died are blood on their hands. And the sorry assholes will not even admit it.

Reach out to a vet, try to help a vet, always remember the vets. We are the sheepdogs protecting the flock and always will be. Night all, sleep safe because a cop or a soldier has made it possible. See y'all tomorrow.

  • Damn, I am getting senile I forgot about today. Miss you John, J.R. Stan and Bill. You were my brothers in arms, and closer to me than my real brothers. Think it is time for a shot and a beer to remember those good men, all in heaven now.

    • You had to be there and remember there was no such thing as cell phones, computers, any of that stuff. We depended on two things, letters from home and music. Believe me, the letters were very important, it helped keep us kind of sane.

      • My Daddy made it back. He was nearly blown away by a sapper on a motorbike at Da Nang air field. I remember the prayers I sent to God to bring him home safely. Mama wrote the letters.

        • I'm glad your father made it home. I was a brown water sailor, spent my time in Cambodia and Laos, but I heard about suicide bombers in places like Da Nang. And we had them on the rivers too. Stop a sampan to see if they were smuggling guns or VC and all of a sudden your world would blow up. Hell of a way to live your life for 13 months when you are 18 then 19 years old. Never thought I would make it to 20!

And, my mother wrote the letters too! Never got a letter from my Dad, ever. I found out later that he was scared as hell about what I was doing and he couldn't write for fear of jinxing me or something. Who knows, I am 64 now so maybe he was right!
