The college bubble is finally bursting

The college bubble is finally bursting. People are waking up to the fact that degrees are overpriced, often useless, and involve four years of brainwashing by libtard professors. Between 2011 and 2017 total enrollment dropped 12 percent.

  • This cracks me up... the people who wanted to become more equal and look down their noses at others are possibly figuring out that they are actually becoming more behind than their peers who put their noses to the grindstone without degrees? Bwahahahaha.

  • Go to a trade school, skip the expense, indoctrination and bullshit of a four year college and a degree in overthrowing the country. Hint, you ain't gonna make it happen snowflakes.

  • Wait a minute. You mean that degree in Transgendered Cauliflower Crossbreeding doesn't translate into a multi-million dollar government job?
The government is giving billions to college professors to study the mating habits of bisexual earwigs, so why can't these kids find a job to pay off their school loans?

  • It's about time people got it, students are getting screwed to support administrators and coaches. Football and basketball coaches that rake in close to $1,000,000,000, that is ONE MILLION, per year with all their perks and benefits. UNM, the largest university in New Mexico, is paying a football coach almost a million and they have never been anywhere near a bowl game on the national stage? Another $800,000 to a basketball coach who hasn't had a winning season in years? At UNM, a backwater university in a state with maybe 2 million residents, the coaching staff salaries alone comes to about $5.6 million at UNM alone.

The average salary for a professor, any professor at UNM, is $119,000 per year. With some, like department heads and stuff, get over $250,000 per year and the top professor at the medical school gets about $480,000 per year. And people wonder why college graduates who do not have rich parents and have to get loans are broke for 15 years after they graduate? Or even longer if they get some kind of higher degree? And almost every year the tuitions costs go up. Maybe a coach wants a raise or something.

  • The biggest factor in the huge increase in college tuition is the explosion in the number of administrators, most of them nothing more than constables in the Thought Police.

    • Everything is bloated with administration... everyone wants to be a manager overseeing and delegating... but not actually doing. Not that employees can think for themselves, since everything is scripted.

    • I think the biggest factor is government loans. It's just basic economics. Once the government got into the student loan business, there was no longer any limit on the demand side of the supply-and-demand equation: whatever the university wants to charge, the government will loan the dumbass kid sufficient money to pay it. Consequently there is zero incentive for universities to keep prices down. Well, until now. Demand might be insensitive to price currently, but it's not immune.

      • You hit the nail right on the head with a big hammer. Look at how much college tuitions have went up since all these states have approved the lottery. All in the name of "giving all children of any income level" the chance to get a college education. In every state that has a lottery either state, powerball, mega millions, I don't give a crap what the lottery is called, politicians got the gullible people to approve it because the profits were going to help fund "education". Here in New Mexico a high school graduate with a reading level of about a 4th grade kid when I was in school can get a lottery grant with a 2.0 grade average? And because lottery sales are down the idiots in Santa Flush want to raid our permanent fund, the fund that has kept this state solvent for over 100 years, so the "deserving" children can go to college? With a 2.0 grade average? The truth is all the universities, colleges, whatever you want to call them, have had to set up education classes for high school graduates to learn how to read and solve simple math problems so a college education here takes 5 years or more. It's all a friggin' joke and lottery idiots, liberal loons, just stupid people in general, have went for it. And the only people getting anything out of it are school officials and coaches.
