  • Oh, neither Trump or crazy uncle Bernie would ever get their proposals past Congress and it has nothing to do with whether they're sincere or not. They're both fringe candidates that neither party trusts to toe the company line and keep the gravy train rolling.

    There isn't a single candidate on either "side" that I'm sold on, particularly on the left but I admit I'm enjoying watching the left and right establishments sweat. They were blindsided by this populist movement because for some liberals, Obama wasn't liberal enough and Hillary is establishment. For conservatives, they've watched RINOs promise change for six years only to watch them kiss Barry's ass.

    People are pissed off and sick of the status quo. IMHO, there isn't a single candidate out there that is truly qualified to be "leader of the free world".We've finally been reduced politically to the point that we are literally throwing shit against the wall and hoping something sticks.

  • If you just admitted it'll never happen, didn't you just remove any notion of it being a threat? Which is basically the point the interviewer subsequently made:

    “Well you’re a much better negotiator than I am, but you just said it’ll never happen so you’ve basically said your negotiating ploy is a bluff.”

    • If nothing else, admitting it will never happen is still more honest than talking up your big plans and acting they *will* happen.

      Damn, folks. Pretty much every damn negotiating ploy/campaign promise in the last 25 years has been a bluff. The only difference is, one person comes out and admits it *before* the actual election. The rest wait until a couple of years after they're elected then blame Congress or the system for blocking their "good intentions."

    • That's where I was going to go. A bluff only works if you don't tell anyone you're bluffing.

    • That's one of the ways Berners are trying to get him more support. Saying that none of the things he proposes would ever make it past Congress, so why worry?
