I'm sorry he feels that way about the US Constitution; but you know what, if he can keep the dumbocraps and the republicrats from crossing the table and agreeing on anything, we have a fair chance at advancing our (the peoples') agenda? And that's a good thing!
You should read what he actually said, instead of what the media said he said.
Trump will have a hard time getting anything through Congress because none of the establishment politicians from either party see him as "one of them."

WTF? For God's sake I wish I hadn't posted this item now. "The rules of the Senate" are not the same thing as the Constitution and I can't believe I'm supposed to check the damn newspapers that closely. This is, as Trump keeps saying, completely fake news.

He is obviously frustrated. I don't agree with him obviously, but he is frustrated that he didn't get the Obamacare repeal thing done and that is because Congress who is mostly Republican right now didn't have his back. However, it is not an archaic system it still works we just need to elect better people who are concerned about us not their next election.
With that said, Obama said the exact same thing overall and no one bat an eye... but because he is a "Republican" they are making a meal out of this.

Yes he did. All in all the Constitution is not about what the government should do for people it is about what the government can't do to you and he found that antiquated and he has said other things of similar meaning that the Constitution is old and tired.
Of course he did, but the recent mysterious outbreak of short term memory loss among members of the national Media Machine will keep it unremembered.

In a way you can't blame him. Like I said above, he is not treated the same way Obama was. That is because he is a "Republican". I don't agree with Trump on this and he needs to just get with the program, but he DOES have a point in being frustrated because there is obvious bias here.
The system of checks and balances, as originally intended, is currently broken. The will of the people, the majority, should dictate legislation and the direction our country takes. Right now we have judicial interference interfering with that process. The democrats are effectively blocking the will of the majority with their highly effective judge shopping sprees. So archaic may not be the correct word to use; he should have said broken.
You make a good point MGAP. He needs to learn to say the right thing intelligently and make the case of the failures of others in not sticking to the point and honoring the Constitution. Not make the point that he doesn't get the same leeway as Obama which is what he really means.
That "archaic" system has a built-in method for curing the activist judge problem but people keep electing spineless self-interested politicians who refuse to use the method. It's not a problem with the Constitution, it's a problem with the people in Washington.

Exactly, and if that comment doesn't make you sweat, how about Reince Priebus echoing Trump about changing libel laws so the president can sue newspapers for libel, or Trump calling Erdogan to congratulate him on abrogating the Turkish constitution, or inviting that nutjob budding-dictator Duerte to the White House a couple days ago. I feel like the United States is Rome in the time of Cicero: still pretending to be a republic even though history would eventually show the republic had already died and the empire had begun.
