  • It was a hot day, over a hundred degrees, and my lady had to work. So I got on my bicycle and rode out to the Bakersfield National Cemetery. There was very little going on when I got there, so I just sat on a bench and thought about what these men have done for us. Then I rode back home.

        You are proven wrong again JP. Why don't you bring over some negative stories about Hillary? Why don't you bring over some stories about how Ryan is selling us out or the underhanded things McConnell is doing?

        • By the way, Trump's casino bankruptcy might be in front of the Supreme Court at the same time he's testifying about his Trump University fraud in a California courtroom. Helluva guy, eh?

        • I do bring negative stories about Hillary and why do you always trumpet (no pun intended) your idol's next-day explanations for his constant stupidity? Who cares? Whenever he says something stupid or ignorant, he comes out the next day and has an excuse. Just like any other liar. That's what liars do when they're caught.

          • A quick search for the last four months reveals the following:
            21, TWENTY ONE, derogatory stories about Trump.
            4 stories about Hillary with one being about buying the Onion and another about using a static noise machine.

            Most of the people here are falling into the trap of why this site was started in the first place if they were honest about it, now that they have a voice. I HATE THE MEDIA!           • I just did a search back to 4/1 which isn't even 4 months and I count over 20 articles on Hillary and you know we don't say anything good about her because there is nothing good about her.

          • Sorry for late reply on this but the question was how many JP authored. I specifically stated HIS posts, he specifically stated HE DOES. I went back two pages of search term "hillary" and "Trump" that ended me up at beginning of February.

            Search under those terms..

            Now, CO2 has lots of anti-Hillary. JP not so much.

One more thing, remember that only two men have died for you. The first was Jesus Christ, who we worship. The second was the American soldier, who we honor on this day.

  • Just got back from gathering the flags placed on the graves of all the veterans buried in our little town. There is a lot of pride here, pride in all those who served and are no longer with us and it shows. Early this morning when we were placing the flags I talked to many people who were honoring their loved ones. Families with their young children, visiting their grandfathers, uncles and fathers. Thanking us for caring enough to supply and place the American flag on their graves. Sharing a story, a little laughter, a few tears. A lot of pride in a little town in the middle of nowhere New Mexico. A little town I am proud to call home.

    I don't give a shit what Trump says, or any politician for that matter, I care about those I served with who are no longer with us. I think about Little John, Stan, Bill and J.R. Good men who fought the good fight, who watched my back as I watched theirs. We went through hell and came back alive and now I am the only one left. God decided to call them home, I am now the only one of the team left and I will never forget them.

    I want to thank each of you here for remembering what Memorial Day is all about. It is people like you who make people like us proud to put on the uniform, proud to be able to serve and protect all Americans.

  • In a cemetery about six miles from the Dutch city of Maastricht lie buried 8,301 American soldiers who died in "Operation Market Garden" in the battles to liberate the Netherlands in the fall and winter of 1944–5. Every one of the men buried in the cemetery, as well as those in the Canadian and British military cemeteries, has been adopted by a Dutch family who tend the grave and keep alive the memory of the soldier they have adopted. It is the custom to keep a portrait of "their" foreign soldier in a place of honour in their home. Annually on "Liberation Day", Memorial Services are held for the men who died to liberate the Netherlands. The day concludes with a concert, at which "Il Silenzio" has always been the concluding piece.
