Website Upgrade. OK, I was getting ‘500 server error’ messages this morning and I know the website is usually slow. I emailed the hosting company and they told me I need a better server. After nosing around I’m upgrading to a server that’s enhanced for WordPress, managed, automatically backed up and has more memory and RAM. Hopefully this will eliminate problems and make things zippier. I’ll let you know when it’s done. Time to quit procrastinating, which I’m a professional at. Thanks!

Website's been on new server for a couple of days now. Seems OK to me and seems faster. (Or is it my imagination?)
It also redirects to https now (secure connection), which should make Google bots happier and get a better ranking.
And, it killed the rating system (thumbs), not to mention the background is gone, and the fonts keep changing.
That was me screwing with the fonts....lol I should do that after everyone's tucked in for the night.
I'll work on the rest.
I know all about procrastinating, I put off getting a new computer for the longest time, which was making it nearly impossible to post here.

I've never gotten the "500", but it WAS taking a long time to bring up the comments to a post. I guess that was server related.
And I'm not sure if it was due to any maintenance being done, but I just had to log in...I've stayed logged in since Jan. 17th, when you guys set up my new password...until now. But the good news is, that password got me back in.
Anyway...just a few tidbits of info that you may find helpful in yer quest for excellence. Or not. Good luck!
I added a site certificate, probably forced you to re login due to https. Google's changing their SEO stuff again, no certificate dumps you down in the listings. So does slow speed. Hopefully both will bring us up some.
I don't know about any of that, but I did have a problem posting before, but it was a real oddball error, that I forget.
Meanwhile, I only see http, not https.
I took the plugin off that forced https because it whacked up the rating on the comments.

OK this plugin was years old, hasn't been updated for a few years and no way to contact the developer for help. I spent 6 hours today and this evening looking for a similar plug in to no avail. They either aren't tested with this version of Wordpress, don't work work period (I tried several) or they work with the posts but not with the comments. About all I could find was this star rating system so we'll have to live with it for now.
Regarding the red border, I haven't been able to stand it for a couple of years so I removed it so it's nice and clean looking all white.

According to the Butcher of Benghazi, no need to buy a new server, all you have to do is wipe it with a cloth, and poof, all cleaned up and ready to go.
Better buff that server up really well. There's stuff on there that would get YOU thrown in Federal Prison.
