  • Hey folks. Hope everyone is ok. My SIL and her family and a friend's family made it safely to our house from Houston yesterday. Took them all day to find a safe route out, but they did. I am giving thanks that we were in Texas and could help because they couldn't find a hotel. If we'd still been in Hawaii...

    • Awesome! Yes the hotels were the first to be taken up. Some people reserved on Thursday and Friday and they aren't letting the rooms go. Cant blame them.

  • Looks like things are getting pretty bad in the Houston area. Looks like I'm going to dodge the bullet here north of SA. I think if we make it to Monday morning, I'll be OK. We bought a house north east of here and it looks like it should be ok too, my wife just left to go check on it. It is in one of the lower lying areas of the area, but should be good.

    • Thanks. SA pretty much remained untouched. And my jury duty went down. Got picked for the jury WITH my friend. Cool to be able to do my civic duty.

  • Well there's a bit of bad weather headed for Texas and as usual the media is acting like it's the end of the world. Nonstop coverage of a hurricane that's only a Category 2 and hasn't even hit yet. Good grief. Journalists are morons, it must be a job requirement.

    • I used it as an excuse to get some fried chicken which I just ate and it was delicious... I even got my Amazon order today... Most of the issues is just the freaky frog that wants to get into my house badly... I keep telling that frog to go away there is no space in this house for it and for me. I will burn this house first... I digress...

      • Remember the last End of the World, last year I think, when there were all kinds of accusations against the weather service for scaring the hell out of people for nothing? Maybe this one will actually be bad but so far they seem to be doing the same thing, over-hyping a story before it happens. What ever happened to warning people the storm is on the way and then waiting until it actually hits before reporting on how bad it is? They're so hysterical about this one they're saying Houston might be completely gone, washed away and uninhabitable for decades. What nonsense.

  • I'm not sure how many of you here believe in the rapture. I do. I study eschatology quite a bit. While watching some YouTube videos on the subject I stumbled on to some about a Revelation 12/September 23 sign in the heavens. That's September 23, 2017. Next month! Do a search for "Revelation 12 September 23" and you will get several hits. The one that found the sign, Scott Clarke, has the best ones. Many are copying his work.

    I don't usually pay much attention to date setters, but this guy pretty much has me convinced that the rapture could be on that date. I know, Jesus said no one would know the day or hour, but that was about his return, not the catching up of His people. This guy has been teaching this on YouTube for six years. I don't know why I haven't seen it, but then I don't usually watch these type of videos unless they are getting several hits and thumbs up. His are ballooning right now. Anyway, if interested give it a look. Actually, I hope everyone checks it out.

    • Personally, I'm convinced that Scott Clarke is a fraud. As this site says, "In the Bible, when a sign is meant to communicate something from God, it is announced by a prophet beforehand. He also gives the meaning at that time, rather than force you to speculate what it means after the fact."

      • JPTravis and Red Robster, Thanks for your responses. I only found this 2 days ago. I've watched a few videos that try to debunk Scotty. They fail because right off the bat, they say this is a common occurrence. It is not. The three planets lining up to complete the crown and Jupiter being in retrograde within the woman's torso for 9 months, along with the other conjunctions, is very, very rare.
        As far as his other failed prophecy, I will definitely look more into that.

        • I don't know much about end times prophecy besides Wormwood and Jesus' blood-stained robe. And I'm ok with that.
          Also: every eye will see Him when he returns.
