White House eyes first national monument to gay rights movement

• So I am watching a video of a guy (cartoon) dressed as Elsa (pants and appropriate male top but in the same colors as hers) and singing "Let it go" and I am thinking this is fantastic right...? Ok so scanning the comments... "this is the movie that should have been, i hope there is a prince disney movie and that he is gay", "Disney should do this and have him marry a guy..." and I am like Bitches... why? Seriously? Why must EVERYTHING be sexualized... ? EVERYTHING? It was a cute video of someone that had nothing to do with gayness who decided to sing the song as a male and a cartoon was made of a male prince who looks like Elsa but it is male singing the song... that is it. Even Elsa wasn't sexualized either, she could be a lesbian... she could be straight we don't know and we don't have to know. What is wrong with people?

• Assless Chaps National Monument, Perhaps a big stone butt on the building would be fitting too.
  I can't wait to see the Park Rangers in their pink outfits and sombrero.

• Gee, I wonder how many Muslims would find a gay rights monument offensive to the point of rioting about it?

• If they put up something like the Washington Monument and say it's for gay rights... well, the laughing will never stop.

  • Couldn't they just call Washington a racist, and change the name of his monument?

    • I think we're on to something here. The Washington Monument would make a great gay monument, wouldn't it? Surely they could suspend a giant butt... er, a big brown... um, symbolic opening over the top of it and voila! Gay lifestyle commemorated!

• It should be made by a Saudi sculptor and placed by the Chinese sculpture of MLK jr. It would be fitting, if nothing else.

• *blinks* .... The gay "struggle" was a BAR being raided?! Did the police at least had dogs or hoses or something? Were they hanged? Were they gassed? Were they shot? I mean really? A riot ensuing from a raided bar is a representation of the gay "struggle"? Wow... ok... whatever...

  If Obama was this interested in the elevation of jobs for all Americans and especially AA's who have struggled the most in jobs under his "reign", majority of AA's and everyone else would have jobs right about now.

  Gay people please stop comparing yourself to Black people. It is not a good look.

  • The Gay Rights fight of the 21st century is that they are denied cake and can't walk into any bathroom they want.

    There was some TV show recently where the character was praised for making the tough decision to 'come out'. What exactly is the downside of coming out nowadays??

    • I guess my major reason for being grossed out is that this has to do with sexuality... something that in truth can change at will or it can be suppressed or it can be manifested normally on the surface and like a freak on the down low... People with certain ancestries or skin color don't have that privilege. Also it is about sexuality something that in truth it is created to be a private thing.

  • When I think about what Africans Americans had to endure to get their rights respected it makes me sick to my stomach.

    • I am not cool with the raiding of the bar, and the resulting violence, but no one nowhere can tell me that the "struggle" is 100% comparable to that of Black people. i am sorry for those who have lost their lives or suffered, but please don't talk to me about the "struggle". It seems manufactured for a political agenda of control.

• Will the statue outside depict Bathhouse Barry on his knees outside a Chicago Bathhouse?

    • They'll just put a penis head on the Washington Monument and then cover it with a giant condom.
