Woke Seattle city council turns itself into a national joke. In order to demonstrate their wokeness and appease Black Lives Matters extremists, they cut the salary of their black female police chief by 40% to punish her for opposing their defunding of the police department. Apparently, to the woke liberals of Seattle, diversity isn’t important if it talks back.

It would serve Seattle right if all the cops just quit and went elsewhere. Then they can work on their utopian law enforcement plan.

This proves yet again, if those who are black refuse to tow the line and do what the task masters and plantation owners wish, they WILL punish those who are willing to thinking for themselves and speak up. Her firing should turn into a campaign ad. Hannity, Carlson or Ingram should bring her on their show. Leo Terrell, along with Larry Elder have found their voices and calling out the bigots, racist and poverty pimps of the dip shits.
Oh I'm sure Fox News people are inviting her. Whether she will accept I don't know. She doesn't seem like someone who wants to grind a political axe. She's just a cop who tried to talk common sense to a bunch of radical left city council-folk. She's been in the department there for 30 years so I'm sure she's all set for her retirement. She might just want to quietly fade into the sunset.
Thing is, a lot of public employee pensions are determined by last two or three years salaries. You can't cut a person's salary by 40% in that situation. It almost forces them to retire to preserve their pension benefits at the higher level. I'm wondering if that factored into her decision to resign.
The salary cut certainly played into her decision. You’re correct about public pensions. It’s either high 3 or high 5. She does seem to be a leveled headed officer. Yet, you don’t rise to the level of Chief of Police and not be political.
The city has lost a steady hand at the helm. It’s only going to get worse too.
I listened to some of what she had to say. Maybe it wasn't about the retirement benefits. She was astounded and offended that the whack-job city council was pondering how to defund the police department without consulting the police chief. Wouldn't you think the actual people doing the police work would be important sources of advice?
That would be logical and common sense. Making it foreign to the fools of Seattle.
