I can kinda sorta understand Chili's. They serve alcohol, and even her in g UN central, firearms are not allowed where alcohol is servered. But Sonic? Pedagogy.
The smart restaurant owner next door would put up a sign, with an arrow pointed to the gun free zone and a sign stating, Our next door competitor is "gun Free", WE are not....pay your money and take your chances...
Time to vote with my wallet again, but I'll set up a camera across the street so I can sell the armed robbery video to the local TV station.
I haven't eaten at Chili's in years and the nearest Sonic is 30 miles away. That being said I don't' plan on eating at either one.
It would be much more tasteful to put up signs, "Please rob us, we are unarmed" or
"We are stupid and deserve to be robbed".
The very next day after announcing customers leave their guns at home, a Sonics was robbed at gun point.

What's wrong with these idiots? I have a ccw and carry everywhere, but I carry concealed. When in a restaurant, no one knows I'm armed, and thus, no one is unduly concerned. But carrying long arms (ar15's and the like) no doubt causes angst among some so why on gods green earth do it? It's in poor taste and not doing ccw any favors.
I don't see a problem at Sonic. They are an outdoor restaurant, AKA the old time American drive in. If you have a weapon in your car, they can't say a thing.
Chili's can go fuck themselves.
