I have a really dumb question. What goes away first? The 2 parties or our nation? Seriously, the system has become so parasitic on either side of the aisle that the host (the taxpayers) might be open to breaking it up at some point. I ask because I am past the point of believing it cannot happen here, because I think it can, & if it does, I have a feeling it will happen quickly once the ball gets rolling.
I don't think it matters. If the 2 parties go away first, it will be because a viable 3rd or 4th party finally broke through, if the nation goes away, it will likely be because we finally had enough and states secede and form another country, the Conservative States of America.

Jeb was a pretty decent governor in Florida, but then he had a very conservative state senate and house to deal with. As president, he would be a disaster, pushing for amnesty and anything else the left wants.
The state-run media will tout whomever the DNC wants to plug in for the Republicans, that being either Bush or Christie. They'll push that candidate as hard as they can all through the primary season. The polls will magically show their republican pick to be catching Killery and may even pass her in the polls. Then when the primaries are over, the dirt will come out of the woodwork that the state-run media had been busily digging up on the republican. Hidden camera recordings, lies, affairs, you name it it will come out. Bridgegate, need I say more? That of course, will ruin any chances of a republican victory. Just watch and see.

Republican primaries have been prolly been going on even before the conclusion of the last elections, RINOs feels Romney failed because he was too conservative, they intend for the 2016 elections to be just like the 2008 and 2012 ones.

I'm fairly confident that if the elections are suspended, it will be the impetus for a long awaited revolution. The people are fed up enough with the crap DC is doing that they will not stand for any more of it.
If the RNC/DNC switches out our candidate, I don't think that will go over either.
That would be reasonable but beyond their means, they aren´t reasonable.
They will also have to take action, if they do not, events will take care of things for them.
We can only hope it runs, but I doubt that it will happen if Rove and the RNC leaders are in charge.

You're correct, deepthinker, but the professional Republicans always scare the nominee away from taking the fight to the Dems. A few weeks ago on "Meet The Press", Rand Paul basically said: Who would Hillary Clinton be to run a war on women campaign, with the problems her husband has had.
The establishment Republicans basically told Paul to shut up because he'll alienate the women's vote.
I think Paul may be the best nominee because he has some fight in him, isn't laughed at, and might be able to put together an interesting mix of social conservatives, libertarians, and even some liberals who hate the rise of the surveillance state and are very disappointed with Obama. If Paul gets his Dad's money machine working for him, look out.
The problem with the Republican Party now is that the conservatives divide the vote and a moderate squeaks through. And it may happen again. Finally, I wonder if the takers are now a majority at the presidential level who can be easily swayed back into line with fear tactics.
While agreeing almost wholeheartedly with your entire post, the thing I found most interesting was the phrase "professional Republicans". That right there is the root of the problem, from an armchair Monday morning QB look breaking down film. My "career" is more important than the work I do here and what's best for the country.
And it's "we the people's" fault. We gave them an overwhelming ass-kicking and a majority and the Repubs spent like drunken sailors, just on "stuff" they liked.
And term limits, imho, aren't the answer; it reminds me of the left moving the goal posts just because they don't get their way. I'll listen but every argument I've ever heard for term limits is reactionary, not proactive in solving the real problem.

Sen Paul has the take no prisoners attitude. He has some positions that every aspect of this country can and should back as well as he has some that won't be agreed with.
