26 Republicans Vote for Internet Sales Tax

• This is being pushed by brick and mortar stores who can't compete. They claim the no sales tax makes it impossible to comete ith internet sellers. Actually, going to "live" stores is generally less expensive, since they do not charge shipping and handling fees. Those far outpace the salestax being collected. And most of the whining stores HAVE internet sites and are selling just like everyone else. The whole thing is a scam. Another "redistribution" into the government's pockets.

• It was only a matter of time before these crooked parasites voted for yet another tax. They're opening the door for a VAT, A national Sales tax, or a Carbon tax next.

• Not excusing these guys but, knowing it has zero chance of making it through the House vote, I imagine it was done to protect themselves come election time. Picture the ad campaign if McCain voted against it. Something along the lines of, " John McCain voted against a budget amendment that would have brought in MILLIONS of tax dollars into Arizona. Taxes collected from other states, not the Arizona taxpayer." Weak and self serving rationalization that the Republican voters need to remember and penalize them for during the next election!

  • Ah, but they would be taxes collected ONLY from the Arizona taxpayer.
    What this bill does is force people who sell items online to collect the sales tax that would be owed by the buyer if they bought it locally, and send it to the state where the buyer lives.

• Taxation without representation... it should be getting reasonably clear that the bipartisan theater is being put on the create the illusion of choice when in fact neither side of the coin of corruption that is the federal government has any intention of abiding by the constitution- which is little more than a rhetorical device for use in speeches.

I mean how do you not know that the "bipartisanship" being referred to here meant support from both Republicans and Democrats in the Senate? How could you not know that Ron Paul was not a member of a third party but a REPUBLICAN when he was in House and that he was not in the Senate? How do you not know that he is no longer in congress and that you could not have voted for him when he was running for congress because you do not live in his district?
