Add WebMD to the list of media we hate. The consumer health care website people trust with medical questions has been writing positive articles about Obamacare… without telling people they were being paid by the government to promote Obamacare.

"The troll is likely not really a nurse"
I'm in a complete agreement there- I doubt that they're even female, the usual profile for these type of paid professional trolls are the incredibly overweight home-bound loser, living with their parents or in govt. housing, on disability ( usually psych......go figure ).
Obviously all has been said. I have used the website in the past. Won't again, this is wrong.
Looks like I'll have to go to voodoo.com for my medical advice from now on.

FedMed
Hopefully this little fact will get a lot of press and WebMD can dwindle into obscurity.....
Of course it'll *never* be mentioned by the lame-stream media......
When I found out WebMD was taking taxpayer money and then lying to its customers, I lost all respect for them and they lost all credibility with me.
It does sort of speak to a lack of integrity. That's one reason most people trust their nurses more than their doctors. Of course we know one nurse that doesn't think doctors are guilty of money making scams.
The troll is likely not really a nurse. Recall, if you will, her statement regarding a patient in hospital whose arm wound smelled of Clostridium difficile. Maybe it studied at one of those medical assistant schools and she used to shave callus from bunions or possibly went as far as phlebotomy training. Deputy janitor. Who knows? She's a paid whistle.
But then, she doesn't think she's a medical professional either.
Yeah... I still don't get that. It makes no sense. Then again how can one truly understand the gruntings of a troll?
She is just being pedantic. Many MDs and DOs will not include nursing as a medical profession. She doesn't have a medical license, nor did she study medicine academically. She already said she's not an RNP. Technically she probably shares the healthcare professional designation with physicians proper.
I'm sure all of us work in fields with specific terminology that doesn't quite fit the layperson's understanding, so doesn't seem to make sense.. You should see the huge rants/debates over the meaning of the word theory on reddit
You are correct. "Technically she probably shares the healthcare professional designation" as I do...but most of us understand that to the general public healthcare and medical are used interchangeably. I still think she was an ass to put up a stink over something so trivial in the grand scheme of things. We in the healthcare industry understand the difference between medical vs healthcare professionals; it isn't so important that those outside the industry do or do not. She was just making the definition of terms an issue because she had nothing else. And all of us who work or have worked in healthcare or are associated who those who do, know it.
Paid by the government? You mean PAID by my tax dollars...
Exactly
Yes.
And major donors to the DNC as well I'm sure.
