  • Did the same as JP's. Didn't put them in moderation it stuck them in the trash. I put them back up and put your IP address in the approved thing. This happened with Kimmie, then JP and now you. I thing they screwed up with the update.

• I do have one question about the story, though. They were house-sitting. Alexa calls the cops on a landline. The cops called on the woman's cellphone to check on her, making the attack even worse. How did the cops get her cell number?

    According to the criminal complaint, 28-year-old Eduardo Barros and his girlfriend were house-sitting a home in Tijeras over the weekend.

    Deputies say when the woman got a text message, Barros became angry, accusing her of cheating on him. That’s when Barros allegedly hit and kicked her, then got a gun saying he was going to kill her asking her, “did you call the sheriff’s?”

    The sheriff’s office claims a smart home device heard Barros say those words and took it as “call the sheriff’s.” Deputies responded and Barros was taken into custody after a SWAT situation.

    He is facing several charges including aggravated battery and being a felon with a gun."

• Spied on? Is that the serious takeaway from this story? This is a great story about well placed technology saving a human being's life (allegedly). I have no problem with Alexa "spying" on them.

  • I have a problem with Alexa's weather. I don't know where she gets her weather info but she's generally way off. Yesterday she was telling me it was 73 and cloudy when it was actually in the upper 70s with no cloud anywhere to be seen. And when I try to get her to talk dirty to me she says she doesn't understand.

  • Yeah I think there seems to be missing THE POINT that (allegedly) this bastard could have killed her and due to the technology being available he was apprehended seemingly red handed, considering SWAT had to be called and all. I don't get this "spied on" business
