Yes it does, especially when Democrats run the show. If you think the Bay Bridge is a terrible fiasco (inferior materials, endless union delays, massive cost overrurns, political corruption) just wait until they start work on the high speed rail (which I predict will never be completed).
I drove across the original Bay Bridge a few weeks ago. It seems to be working just fine.
