• Sea water is more dense then fresh water. Land ice on the Antarctic melts and this freshwater leaks into the ocean. Since the freshwater covers the top layers of the ocean and since it has a higher freezing point then salt water it is more likely to freeze at the ambient conditions.

  This is why you see an increase in ice sheets in this region.

• AGW believer, in a whiny desperate voice, using the last argument for global warming when confronted with evidence the theory is wrong "But, but if there is even a 1 % chance the global warming models are correct, we still have to act "
