Oh, Canada! Global Warming (TM) means your average winter temp is going to rise from -25 to -23!
Umm, they DO know that the reason those places are called "oilsands" is because natural organic petroleum is oozing through the crust of the planet, like Mother Earth is having a very ugly "time of the epoch", right?

...when you hit northern North Dakota & enter Saskatchewan at North Portal, SK heading through Estavan, it's all oil fields. I was so happy driving through there, I nearly cried. That is all part of the Bakken Oil reserves.
One thing to consider is that these dolts were basically in oil country protesting the oil industry. Alberta Canada is all about oil, & this was a waste of time. Especially there.
These people are just pissed that the oil they need to heat their homes is being sent here.

Okay, I just know there is some snarky comment I can make here, but I don't think it could top the facts.
Agree that the story is hard to beat with snark. You know your protest failed when the press coverage begins like this, " Dozens of anti-pipeline and oilsands activists gathered." Dozens! Exactly 4 dozens and 2 singles.
I bet that, to a polar bear, one of these protesters would look a lot like a seal. Maybe someone could lure a few dozen of them into polar bear country with rumors of a refinery being built on Baffin Island.
