Ark. lawmaker wants to end abuse of government-issued phone program

• "We're not talking about 100 million here or 100 million there." That's good, because we need to stop saying that 100 million here or 100 million there is alright. If I were to scam the government out of 100 million, would the government say "well 100 million here or 100 million there," I don't think so. So why the hell should anyone in Congress EVER say "100 million here or 100 million there?" I think they should be saying "A nickle here or a nickle there." Actually if they said "a hundred here or a hundred there" all of our debt problems would probably be solved in short order.

  I don't mean to criticize this guys over all message, but never say "100 million here or 100 million there." It ticks me off, to be polite. There are 500 and some members of Congress, 400 some in the House, and who knows how many Congressional staff there are. If you've over legislated, can't keep track of dollars, or hundreds of dollars, but need to go to a 100 million here or 100 million there, do your country a favor and don't run for reelection, because you are utterly useless.

  To the best of my knowledge, even a phone with an unpaid bill and no SIM card will dial 911.

  • Can't let those who work for a living and can afford social media have an advantage over those who vote for a living.

  • What about if a girl needs to call her mom to tell her her husband was mugged and shot?

    • Call 911, when the cops come, and take you to the station to interview you, ask them to call your mom.

    • They have some VERY inexpensive phones available. Get one. Then call your mom and tell her that your husband was mugged and shot.
