      My brother lived just south of Trenton for thirty years. After the scum started spreading outside of Trenton more, he sold his house and got the hell out of dodge.

      My niece was a party animal when she was younger and one time while clubbing in Trenton, she got carjacked, had the crap beaten out of her, kidnapped and dumped down in Philly.

      They built a Marriott there to provide a quality place to stay and hopefully attract tourism or something. The day that it opened, someone was mugged by a scumbag with a 2x4. The day it opened.

      Camden might be the armpit of NJ but Trenton isn't far behind.

• This general needs to realize that the "gun culture" in this country has little to do with violence in this country. It has more to do with a failed war on drugs and an economy that has been in decline for decades thanks to the government finding new and unusual ways to F it up. Both of those things together have been toxic for over thirty years.

  Also, the rise of the "normalization" of psychological disorders. You don't have manic depression, you are bipolar. You don't have schizophrenia, you have dissociative identity disorder. You aren't mentally retarded, you're slow or learning impeded.

  There are people out there that years ago would have been institutionalized in years past but state run mental facilities declined almost in concert with the rise of the prison population. Rather than institutionalizing people, we slap a name on their medical condition, throw pills at them that they can't afford without insurance until one is found that "works".

  I can't go deeper into this because I have work to get done but yeah, gun culture doesn't have jack shit to do with the problems in this country. It's the dipshits in DC that think you can legislate something out of existence, slap a blanket label on a person or group of people and think that makes them all the same, all the while engaging in trade agreements along with fiscal monetary policies that have resulted in jobs being outsourced, a decline in wages and social standards and unimpeded inflation that makes it harder and harder for an average person to get by. They say "Go to college and you'll succeed" while making it more expensive via inflation and government subsidies. They've got this country's economic system FUBAR, that's the real problem.
