Boortz to Bow Out

Boortz to Bow Out: The Talkmaster has announced that he is hanging up his microphone on 01/21/2013 -either in celebration or with lamentations- ending a career in talk radio that has lasted over forty years. For many Boortz was the gateway drug into libertarianism and has been a longtime champion of the notion that devotion to political philosophy trumps adherence to political party. Longtime friend of the Bootz Show, and victim of a high profile media lynching, Herman Cain will be replacing Boortz. Note: Don’t get Boortz in your area? Here is an app for that.

Hmmm. The 2012 Election Reminds Me Of Something

Hmmm. The 2012 Election Reminds Me Of Something. This article questions which election of the past is most similar to the one looming before us. A number of them are noted. For our purposes here we will focus on the first: “1936: Franklin Delano Roosevelt vs. Alf Landon, says Alison Dagnes, who teaches political science at Shippensburg University. “The Republicans tried to attack FDR for his New Deal programs, saying they were too expensive and moved the country toward socialism — sound familiar?”The problem, she says, is that once a president gives the people new rights, the public grows attached and wants to keep them.” Can anyone spot the main problem here? Ding, ding, ding! That is correct. Despite what poli-moron Alison Dagnes thinks Presidents can’t grant new rights. Nor, despite the best efforts of Barry and company, do they have the authority to take any of our old ones away.

ABC’s Barbara Walters to Michelle Obama: ‘Will Racism be a Part of This Campaign?’

ABC’s Barbara Walters to Michelle Obama: ‘Will Racism be a Part of This Campaign?’: Interesting question. We’re tempted to say yes. This time around, just like last, a significant portion of the population will turn out and vote for the man simply because of the color of his skin.

Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day: It has been said that if you love your freedom you should thank a vet. This is certainly good advice. But we must remember that not all of those that secured our freedom were able to come back to our thanks. And so today is just one of the many days that we should set aside to remember them.

The EEOC: Protecting the public from the dangers of attractive people. This time around their targeting a coffee shop. We’re not sure why. Of course we here at I Hate the Media are committed feminists. Which is why we are combating misogyny by including this video. Because no man could watch it and come away with anything remotely close to hate for women.

Warren: Wall Street Fighting A “Guerrilla War” Against Regulations

Warren: Wall Street Fighting A “Guerrilla War” Against Regulations. From the article: “Well, this is about accountability,” Elizabeth Warren said about her call for Jamie Dimon to step down as CEO of JPMorgan Chase. “You know, the banks have been loading up on risk and they don’t want to be accountable. And Jamie Dimon not only is CEO of JPMorgan Chase, he holds this position of public trust, advising the New York Fed on how to regulate risk for these large financial institutions like his own financial institution.” If accountability is the issue we have a much better idea. Let them fail. Let them go out of business. Let them end up in bread lines, soup kitchens and going door to door trying to get work mowing our lawns. Of course a committed corporatist like Elizabeth Warren could never allow for that solution. That gives the power to the market. That gives the power to the consumer. That gives the power to the people. And if that were ever to happen there would be precious little left for her to use in that never ending quest to control our lives.
