Awful: new jobs at 96,000, missing expectations; rate hits 8.1%. Unexpectedly lousy, as expected. New job totals for June and July revised downward. “The Labor Department’s birth-death model, which approximates jobs created by new businesses during the month, added 87,000 to the total, making it primarily responsible for the net job gains.” The birth-death model is basically a guess, and the model appears to be broken.

Can anyone tell me the last tme the jobs estimates were NOT lower than the administration expected?
Sounds like it's time for "Dear Leader" to refocus his laser, between rounds of golf that is.
He needs to make jobs his "top prioity." THat should ensure a Republican victory in November!
Guess again. The whole "unemployment crisis" is nothing but right-wing teabagger nut-job spin -- spun out by the right-wing media conglomerates.

Anybody notice how they usually leak the job numbers on Thursday evening, but this time they kept them secret until the DNC convention was over? Must be nice having the whole federal government working for your reelection campaign.
No amount of spin will be able to get the smell off these numbers. To complement Elrond. Ice berg DEAD a head, engines full reverse, hard to starboard
Unemployment reported as 8.1% but real unemployment at 15%, no increase in wages or hours worked, millions have dropped out of the job market.
Sort of ironic isn't it? A disastrous jobs report the morning after the Captain of the Titanic made a plea for a second chance.
"Job" is a dog whistle, right?
You're probably taking those job figures out of context, and the word 'job' is a racist code word anyway, so just shut up.
