Okay I finally got to see the video... they took it down for some reason. Okay... Personally, I am just being real, I would love to be part of that party cause it looks fun... now of course seeing a lack of women that look like me, the chances ARE very high that I wouldn't pledge, UNLESS I was specifically told that the color of my skin is not an issue and that I can pledge, just that for some reason women who aren't white don't do it. I would pledge, I have been surrounded by an all non-Black group of people in many stages in my life. I don't fear Whites and Whites have nothing to fear from me, so it wouldn't be a problem for me to be part of that, and perhaps encourage other women who aren't White to pledge in the future.
With that said, IF the sorority ACTIVELY discriminates against non-White people then questions.... is this a PRIVATELY funded sorority within the PUBLIC university? If that is so, they have a right to actively discriminate against non-Whites, which means that Black PRIVATE sororities can also exist and multicolored people PRIVATE sororities can also exist. All-Christian private sororities can also exist (which would discriminate against non-Christians). So I can pledge other PRIVATE sororities if I really needed to join one and fist bump and whatever.
IF... this is a PUBLICLY funded sorority within the PUBLIC university then no... they don't have a right to discriminate and should make the effort to make sure that appropriate candidates (as per grades, extra-curriculars, generational, etc.) of any color or race can be included in the pledge process. They can have their standards according to behavior and merits, but cannot discriminate according to exterior appearances IF they are getting public funding for their sorority. If they want to actively discriminate based on appearances, they cannot hold on to public funds, they will have to exist on private funding only, pay rent to the public university for the privilege of being within the borders of the university (if they are WITHIN the borders of the university... if they are OUTSIDE the borders of the university, they don't have to pay rent nor dues to the university at all, unless they wish to be recognized as a University of Alabama private sorority, for the use of the name they will have to pay dues).
I don't know about the particulars, at least that particular issue of public vs private funding, which makes all the difference.
As for the video... I really could only stomach about two minutes. The music was laughably bad and after a while it got repetitive and boring. I think two minutes was good enough time to showcase that they love having parties and using fake tans and being hot an young. All of this is fine, but the video was too long.
As for the article... I don't know who wrote it... probably a white man trying to assuage his guilt at... something... happening... between... his pants... ?

Yes the music was terrible, but at least it wasn't hip hop or rap... that would have been awful.

If the fymynysts *really* wanted to put a stop to these horrors, they could either appoint Bill or Hyllary Clintoon to "investigate". Either one would certainly cause the poor sorority girls to want to cover up and avoid sexual harassment.

Apparently the "right to choose" only exists if you are planning on killing a baby. All other times you must defer to what the state's representative has decided for you.

The problem with this critique of such a "horrible" situation is that as much time, ink, and energy spent by the author foaming at the mouth over the death of western society is that my first impulse is to say "OMG, who the hell cares.", and my second rebuttal to them is "Get a life, dummy".

It's even more ludicrous when she could have made a legitimate point without sounding like a jealous mouth-breather. For example, I *do* wonder at the lack of black girls -- possibly they used the extra-strength peroxide to get them to look all alike, but somehow I doubt it.

'Critics' is code word for 'ugly and hateful' chicks and some dudes who didn't get to hang out with girls like this in college. I lived four years in a quasi beer commercial, Ferris Bueler, Skinimax movie with girls like this- it was awful for all of us- we said never.
