I don't think they "felt good" about this, they just didn't feel anything for the man who was being victimized.

We are turning into a nation of sissies, afraid of their own shadow. I wouldn't be able to look in the mirror if I had done nothing to help this man.
This is so sad. I can understand wanting to be safe, but another weapon preferably a gun would have ended the attack and perhaps save the man's life. He died unnecessarily.
These guys do sound like wimps but with the totally f*cked up state of the country due to the media and politicians (in that order) is causing people to think more about being arrested, needing pricy lawyers, and spending at least some time in jail, than jumping in to help some poor guy.
Fifty years ago in this situation this punk would have had his ass handed to him before he got to the second stab and the police would simply say "Good job" and haul the thug's ass to jail where he would stay. NOw we cant even call a thug a thug without a bunch of pc-assholes (redundancy or is it one word) getting their panties in a wad over violating the thug's (there I said it again) civil rights. We are doomed as a free country.
I bet someone being able to freely carry a gun, concealed or not, might have stopped him.

I'm all for protecting my family and myself first, but in a closed area, trying to not be the next victim isn't a viable strategy. That punk has learned how to use violence of action, imagine his surprise when I pull my 9mm that I carry and he is on the receiving end.
I don't carry a gun. Not because I don't want to, but because I don't want that much government in my life. I do carry a knife, often more than one. The knife I carry, regardless of how I am dressed, is larger than the one described as the assailant's knife, and I would have no problem using it. I have several years of martial arts training, in 3 disciplines, and between that, street fighting, and the knives, I would not have hesitated to help. I feel bad for the victims in the inner cities. The metrosexual mindset, and feminization of the American male, is a terrible thing, and the animals count on it.
