  • Thankfully, I'll be missing it once again. Let's see, it's Superbowl XXXVII? That makes thirty seven of them that I haven't seen even one minute of. Perfect record.

  • Face reality Belichik has always cheated. Some times he gets caught and some times he does not. As for under inflated footballs, I DONT CARE. Yemen is going to shit, terrorist are run all over the world and quagmire is releasing more of the goat loving, child molesting worshipers back into the world.

Just so all know, yes I'll watch the Super Bowl, if nothing more for the commercials.

  • Is anyone else as sick of this stupid story as I am? I mean people are going batshit crazy over this story....No wonder we get the politicians we do. I suppose next Piglosi and One eyed Reid will be introducing legislation to mandate properly inflated balls and thrown in an amendment to force the Redskins to change their name.

    • It's just another distraction the MSM feeds us to keep the uninformed from recognizing the fact that barry let another bunch of Al Qaeda leaders escape to Yemen....which seems to now have been overtaken by.....Al Qaeda.
Who would have thought that could possibly happen???

    • Journalists have strange priorities, don't they? But part of this problem is caused by the fact that twelve billion journalists are assembling in Arizona and they have to write football stories for two straight weeks even though no games are being played. They're desperate. This deflated balls story is a godsend for them.

  • I played football every year all the way into February, sometimes through March, in the snow and the mud and the rain, until I was fifty years old, and I doubt very much whether the issue of PSI in the football ever came up once. It. Just. Doesn't. Matter. Whatever ball is out there on the field, you toss it around a couple times to see how it flies, then you play ball. And we weren't using nice NFL regulation stuff - we had some old decrepit worn-out footballs in the mix. Some of the really old ones would literally absorb water and be heavier by the end of the day than they started. It. Still. Didn't. Matter. Not once, in all those years, did a team walk off the field saying, "The only reason we lost was the crappy football."

    • Hell, I won't even get into the sandlot games we used to play.....and those were tame compared to the street games that were supposed to be "touch" football, but NEVER ended out that way.

    • Which suddenly reminded me, one snowy wintery day I tried to get the guys to use a Frisbee instead of a football for the game, but that was one step too far. They wouldn't do it.

  • NE and IND used the same balls. I think NE could have used a soccer ball and the outcome would have been the same. Enough about the damned balls already. Make those useless refs inflate them before the game and be done with it.

    • Hear! Hear! What a bunch of sore-loser crap. And I don't mean the Colts who have been fairly classy about this. From what I've read it's the sore losers down in Baltimore who started this and keep feeding the frenzy. Remember, they're the ones who whined when the Patriots scored a touchdown by passing to a tackle. The refs told those morons the tackle was eligible and the wide receiver was not eligible, and they covered the receiver anyway. Then they went into whine mode and they're still whining, calling it "trickery." Jeez. Isn't that what every football play is, trickery? Meanwhile, I see another Raven is in trouble with the law: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/12217376/baltimore-ravens-cut-nt-terrence-cody-amid-animal-cruelty-probe.

  • Does not answer the question as to how all those balls became under inflated.
The man is a total control freak..NOTHING under his command takes place without his knowledge and approval. This is nothing more then a CYA statement. I don't believe a word of it and really don't care about the stupor bowl...best games are over.

    • There is a plausible explanation for this. It was cold out, the balls were checked 2+ hours before the game. Sitting out in the cold, the air in them contracts and the pressure reduces.
Try this, fill a football to 13 psi, put it in your freezer for 15 minutes, check the pressure. Anyone want to take a bet on what you will find?
I'm not defending the Pats, but let's be realistic. You can't change the laws of physics.

      • If the score had been really tight, I could understand all the bruhahs. But the team has a good record, they won by a significant margin. Maybe they were just the better team! What a concept!
