Ben Bernanke helped lead nation out of crisis

Ben Bernanke helped lead nation out of crisis: And if you believe that there is a bridge to the moon we’d like to sell you. Of course after QE Infinity you could probably build your own bridge to the moon just so long as you were willing to part with a loaf of bread’s worth of federal reserve notes.

  • If you consider going from a "Crisis" to devaluing the dollar, and loss of our reserve currency status. This is going to make what happened to the weimar republic look like a good time.

  • sometime, last year, my ebt allowance was $85, then they lowered it and to 58, last month i got a letter sayin it was going up to 63, this month i got another letter sayin it's 50. NOW, the question I have, for all y'all who are smarter than me in economics, Is this a sign of stability, or crisis? Explain your answers. :)
OH and my SDI is still under 1K.

    • You need to read 1984, it's all explained there.
Simply stated, your chocolate ration was increased from 85 grams to 50 grams.

  • Yea right and I can leap over building in a single bound.

Bernanke did nothing but put this country on the express lane to financial ruin. He and Paulsen need to be tried for fiduciary malfeasance. At some point the money presses are going to have to stop and then watch the hyper inflation kick in. Followed right behind with stagflation. For those who don't remember that Carter mess. It's where goods and services prices skyrocket and your wages remain stagnant or are reduced. Car loans where @ 20%, home loans where impossible to obtain.

  • Interesting chart that accompanied the article, although Yahoo failed to explain why Bernanke's performance was so much below that of Greenspan and Volcker.

    • Listening to Greenspan speak was a surefire cure for insomnia, but at least he didn't make us all worry about the economy crashing, and the world going nuts.
