This election has nothing to do with keeping the country going, it's all about looting the treasury before the bottom drops out. And the democrat nominee will be the one who offers the most free stuff.
I saw a comment on Reason about that once. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like:
How do you ever get any votes when your running against both the party of more free stuff and less free stuff and your platform is no free stuff.

I think he is pandering to people of color now because he is the whitest, white-bread, blandest ofay in the world. You say jazz and he thinks Kenny G. You say blues and he thinks Pat Boone. Of course I'm sure he does "hate" white people and that he is down for the struggle of "marginalized" people, but only in a theoretical way. He'll give lip service to it and probably honestly thinks of himself as a social justice warrior but when it comes to choosing the people he is going to associate with in real life, Bernie $anders is about as bland as one of John Kerry's crustless PB&J sandwiches.
