Bill de Blasio moves to eliminate workfare in NYC

• Anthony Weiner might not have been so back looking back. Neither would Jimmy "The rent is too damn high" McMillan.

• Didn't NYC almost go bankrupt back in the 70's? Well, looks like they are taking another shot at it. De Blasio is a dyed in the wool hardcore socialist, who's willing to take the city on the path to Detroit.

• OK, I actually think I know why this is happening. He's bowing down to the Union Bosses, because these jobs that the welfare folks are doing are jobs that should be being done by Union people.
  Picking up trash is a job for a City Union employee.
  Patching a pothole, same thing.
  Cleaning up vacant lots and making little parks, more city employee jobs.
  You have to protect the union jobs or people might get the idea that these jobs can be done by anyone for much less than the $45+ an hour the city pays their shovel leaning loafers.

  • They should start a welfare union, but going on strike would be redundant.

• If you are able bodied and you chose not to work or try to work, nothing for you. Dough Boy should talk with Dinkins and find a psychic to channel Ed Koch and ask the two of them what it was like when NYC was about to go belly up and was the precursor to shitago.

  What is next, a departure tax as people and companies bail from NY and NYC?

• Given the number of useless things the government does, it should be appropriate for otherwise worthless people to do them, but Mayor de Blasio and his Comrades believe in the innate dignity of welfare.

  • What dignity?
    Does anyone remember the TV show Good Times? John Amos was the father, and he refused to accept any help, because it meant he was less than a man if he wasn't able to support his family.

    What about the Jeffersons? George was so proud of himself, working his way up to become the owner of 7 dry cleaning stores and an expensive apartment on the upper east side of NY.

    Those used to be the types of people that we grew up looking at on TV. Now it's the worst of the worst, the dregs of society, the MTV Real world and Jersey Shore crowd, the thugs and bangers, the pimps and ho's. Those are the icons that we have to look at now.

    No wonder DeBlasio is looking to stop making welfare people have to work for their money. They don't know any better, everything is supposed to be free for them.

    Sodom and Gomorrah are an improvement over what we have now.

    • No dignity. Seen it my own family. Two brothers, one was my Dad. His lazy older brother chose crime and wound up in prison. After prison, he never worked a day in his life. He learned to game the system in prison. He taught his son the system and his son only worked long enough to get disability from a fake OJI. My Dad worked his ass off, retired, then got another job because he was bored. I've learned from my Dad and have been working since 12. I had my own business at 13 and had enough money to buy and pay for my own car at 16.
      I put myself through trade school and my kids are both going to college. Last I heard of my cousin is that he got a raise. In the form of a child. He will no doubt pass the family secret on to this poor kid and another generation of Texas trailer trash is all but guaranteed.

      It's not just a NYC or minority problem. This mentality crosses state and racial barriers. The problem is that our elected officials allow it to happen.

    • That generation did indeed overcome. Now organizations like the NAACP can never admit that and need to find a way to stay relevant since they no longer have a reason to be. Race baiting is the current evolution.
