No matter the rational behind this foolishness, this is an incredibly bad idea. You don't fight propaganda by curtailing rights, then you're no better then the lying liberal media.
Best opinion is that this was not a serious bill, this was basically trolling the Collaborationist Media.
Curtailing rights is not the way to expose right curtailment. I think this rep. Just wrote himself in the foot.
I don't think he had any intention of the bill passing. He was making a point, and I think he did a damned fine job.
But what if they had passed it before they knew what was inside?
I'm all for common sense journalist control. Will there be a two year waiting period before they can propagandize. Will they have to state the party they vote for. These things just make common sense.

That was the whole point of the South Carolina rep's proposal - to point out the difference in Left wing attitudes toward the First and Second Amendments. Naturally, it sailed right over the heads of the geniuses in the MSM.

They register agents of foreign governments don't they? Perhaps that would be a better registry for "journalists"....Since none of them seem to like America very much and are helping to destroy it.
