This didn’t even need to happen. From what I saw yesterday they could have taken this guy out with a sniper several times. Too much bloody PC down under. Now they’ll probably try to spin it as a non-terrorist act. Oh and how are those strict gun control laws working Aussies?

In watching the NBC live feed this morning, I heard one of the coddled female studio commentators mention that she was unable to understand how suck a person could not only POSSESS a gun, but be able to walk around with it. Obviously she has yet to look up the word criminal in the dictionary. Isn't there a law against taking over the chocolate shop and hold people hostage? How could someone do such a thing?

I'm no expert on the sniper business, but it sure seemed like this could have been ended easily and much earlier. I also couldn't understand why the male hostages couldn't rush the guy. A shotgun is devastating at close quarters but it's not the easiest thing to keep guard with for that many hours - seems like it would get might heavy and the guy would have to relax into a resting position.

...what I enjoy is that despite all of the politics, this is a no BS zone. It has to be, people rely on the info being real. If the threat is from jihadis, they don't call them "disaffected youths".
With the exception of the South Pacific, which is a weather warning, I have no desire to visit any of the places on this list. I don't get why anyone else would want to go there either.
