• We didn't get to see what led up to the ending. It was either in a spin, which is very difficult to do in a plane that large, or it stalled in a sharp turn, too close to the ground. There was virtually no forward speed.

  • Those things come with so many warning systems and so many automatic compensations, it's hard for me to believe you could stall one even if you tried. But clearly it stalled.

    Here's my guess: the pilot and co-pilot were unconscious already. It's the only thing that makes sense. Either killed by terrorists or blacked out from lack of oxygen.

    • What I saw was a stall. Neither of the pilots would have been on O2 at take off. Stalling a 747 is something you really have to work at to accomplish. The weather is hard to distinguish from the video, but a failure to maneuver properly after encountering a microburst or downdraft would cause this to happen. He could have also been dodging fire or possibly trying to avoid another aircraft that we can't see in the video.

      Another plausible expalantion is contaminated fuel or the wrong fuel being pumped into the plane. Could cause the motors to flame out and then the pilot stalled the airplane by failing to push the stick forward.
      Or the video is a fake!

      • You gave two explanations I didn't think of: bad fuel (bizarre mistake but what do I know about Afghan airports?) and fake video.

        • I heard last night that improperly loaded cargo shifted aft on take off. That would cetainly explain it as well.

• It wasn't under power, totally dead in the air. How does that happen?

  • How did Benghazi happen, while the military was told to stand down?

• The seven Americans, who were they? What did they know and about whom?

  • Probably just delivered more bags full of money to Karzai.
