Bradley Manning wants to live as a woman now. Everybody is supposed to call him “Chelsea” and his lawyer wants the prison at Fort Leavenworth to pay his sex change expenses. No big deal. The other inmates will probably take care of it for free.

I don't recall how it turned out, but there was great controversy some years ago when a convicted pedophile wanted to be castrated, at govt. exp. the uproar was from ppl who said it's not the balls that control the man as well as those who rightfully didn't want to foot the bill for this ELECTIVE surgery.

I'm sorry. I know people who are transgendered (some who have and haven't gone all the way) and I don't have a problem with it. I'm not in their shoes, but I can at least have respect and empathy for them. They're issues don't hurt me or affect me in the slightest, so I will use their preferred pronouns and whatever else they need for me to know I respect them as people. Having said that, when it comes to Manning, he can seriously f**k off. He uses his "issues" as a excuse to betray not only his country, but put his fellow service members in potential? Screw that. He can just thank his lucky stars that one day, he'll be free. He gets no respect, sympathy or empathy from me. Most people with his "issues" deal with them withoutpotentially victimizing others. His whining is not only a slap in the face to us, but to them as well.

Was acquainted with a cross dresser when I lived in Oregon, I don't swing that way, but when he was made up....WOW. And he was straight with a VERY cute (and understanding) girlfriend.
Also had a very close gay friend who used to come over and have coffee,
dinner, and we even got blind drunk a few times, he stayed over rather than drive...no problem.
My neighbors asked if I was not worried others might think I was gay. I told 'em I didn't care what others thought, those who knew me liked and respected me for who I was, and those who didn't know me could think what they wanted.
As I said, I don't care about anyone's PRIVATE life, just don't expect ME to pay for it.

Yeah, well, if the army lets them have it both ways, I should say. Just heard that the army denied a request to allow Manning to undergo hormone therapy at Leavenworth. Matter of time before the "human rights" crowd goes ape shit and uses the Eighth Amendment or some other legal maneuver to justify special treatment.

One of the syndicated radio shows had a song called Prison Bitch. Manning will most likely get his wish and then more. Those skirts might get just a tad bit drafty in the Kansas winters. From my colleagues who where stationed at Ft Leavenworth, they say it does get very windy in the winter time.
