Must be that liberal logic I hear so much about, here everything is "Bush's Fault" In Brazil it's "The Bus Station's Fault".....If Soccer completely disappeared from the planet would I care....Nope, not one Iota....same with the Olympics, and most liberal politicians....
Isn't this the same thing that happened in Vancouver back in 2011? The low information crowd is looking for any excuse to get some looting in.
It did happen in Vanny in 2011 when the Canucks lost in the Stanley Cup finals against the Bruins, & they lost against the Rangers. Weird dynamic out there in British Columbia that I don't understand.

If they had bowling alleys, there would be bowling pins and 16 lb balls flying through the air at cars and people.

How can anyone take ANY game seriously? That's why they're called games, and why participating is called playing. I've always wondered why sports is part of news programs. It's not like there's any real importance to any of them.
Soccer is barely behind the Catholic Church as the biggest religious faith, & I mean BARELY. Also, there is not an expectation in Brazil that they win the World Cup, it's a demand, & that gets amplified when they are the host nation. Losing the 1950 final left a major scare on the nation, but getting their ass handed to them by Germany, particularly in the manner in which it happened, is what Brazilians are shocked by. Personally, I have never seen anything like that in any sport considering the circumstances. Shocking result to say the least. Should there be public unrest over it? No, but win a title here in North America, & we all get scenes of looting & vandalism. I never got that.
