The whole concept of having to get permission from the state (at any level) to own a firearm is contrary to the Constitution. When the government makes a list, it never forgets.
Nor does said list get peeked at by 'unauthorized personnel', shared with other agencies, used for unintended purposes, published by an unethical newspaper and hacked.
In Hawaii, it's a 14 day waiting period, you have to have exact change for the permit (cash only), and you actually have to go down to city hall in Honolulu a total of 3 times to finalize your gun purchase (permit application, permit pick up, gun registration). If you cant pick your permit up on the allotted day, you have to start all over. They purposefully make it as difficult as possible to dissuade people from buying. We are hoping to move to Texas after I retire next year.
Or move next door to New Mexico. In Texas you have to have a permit to open or conceal carry, here you can carry in the open with no permit at all. You still see rifle racks in pickups around here, with rifles in them!
And vote by mail....
Please fight this so it can go to SCOTUS and make it the law of the land. I hate having to go back to get my firearm.

Talking to a CHP guy who works Capital Security this morning, it appears the law givers of the liberal persuasion are indeed butt hurt this morning and said they will challenge the decision because it is going to "lead to more killings almost instantly".......I am thinking they are worried about some of the convicts who just got the right to vote back getting shot while robbing someone and a big loss in demotard voters.
I wonder if this will ever be a shall-issue state. I guess actually obeying the Constitution would be too much to ask.
Don't hold your breath. I'm waiting for Jerry Clown to push through a law banning guns in the state.
