It's pretty easy to "figure out" the libs in an "all roads lead to Rome" way - all those groups who sometimes confuse us when they apparently ignore issues they supposedly care about (women's rights, environment, civil liberties, etc). Well, what they really care about is statism. If it furthers statism and suppresses liberty, then they are for it. How it jives with their stated goals becomes secondary and is explained away in a some lame-ass way (lame-ass from our vewpoint, totally acceptable from the MSM's viewpoint).
But the one you touch on is a tougher cookie to get a bite out of. No question, speaking from personal experience, there is some kind of love, obsession even, for all things chaos, disorder, and immorality. The only possible explanation is it's pathological. If you ever make any inroads on understanding how it comes about in those minds, using the term loosely, let me know.
