Britons watching TV in the toilet

Britons watching TV in the toilet. Well, the TV is not in the toilet, they’re watching TV on their smartphones (whoever said “fartphones”, report to detention) while sitting on the toilet. Why are they called “smartphones” when they’re used for such dumb things?

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Listen everybody: people make lots of money designing apps for these things. How about we put our heads together and create a smartphone toilet paper app?

We could even pair it with one of those flashlight apps so people can see what they're do-dooing. 40% profit share to me for being the idea guy.

  • I hear most of them play poker while on the throne because they always get a royal flush.

    • They're Brits so they eat lots of pudding. It's more likely they sit there groaning about their full house.

  • How fitting. Since there hasn't been anything produced for British TV that was worth watching since Monty Python and Benny Hill, this makes total sense to me.
