This 40% to 26% is not correct. Burger King will still pay 40% USA tax on any profits made in the USA. However, BK will not pay the 40% USA tax on any profits not made in the USA. When HQ'd in Canada BK will not have to pay 26% income tax on profits made outside of Canada. We are the only country in the OECD (pretty sure about that) that taxes out of country profits to corporations HQ'd in the USA. Again not a 100% on this but I pretty sure that this new taxing was bundled in either Dodd Fwank or Obama-Democrat Care. Either way it was done under the fascist Obama.
I fully support BK going for Tim Horton's & ditching American corporate tax rates. To those who are offended by "corporate inversion" & believe that this is tax revenue lost to the US Treasury, you might be a Marxist, whether you know it or not. From the 10 Pillars of Communism...

...when you listen to the arguments & the angry proclamations made against "corporate inversion", you will notice they speak as if they US gov't is losing money. That mindset is a basic tenant of communism, that all money belongs to the gov't, & that we just sort of have it until they need it & demand it back. These people will never admit publically that money will always go where it is treated best, & the USA is not a good place to do business.

Nope.
Every citizen and every US company needs to be able to have the freedom to escape an oppressive tax system.
The thing though is that the oppressive tax system shouldn't exist in the first place. The only recourse for an oppressive government to prevent people from leaving, is to oppress people even more.
We hope that of course government can change course before it gets completely tyrannical... :-/

No...she forgot, period end sentence. I know this because she didn't call me on my birthday but I called her the very next day which was her birthday and I said "Happy birthday" and she responded "OH my God, I forgot your birthday yesterday! What kind of Mother am I? What mother forgets her child's birthday? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and I think somehow after that I was supposed to feel sorry that I caused her to forget my birthday or something. My dad on the other hand sent me a text telling me "Happy Birthday" which I responded to by text saying "Happy Birthday to you too" and then he asked me what my address was...you know because I moved and didn't bother to tell anyone where I moved to...my brother also sent a text wishing me a happy birthday. I told him "thank you" I didn't not wsh him a happy birthday because I did that already just before I moved 3 weeks ago. But now I just remembered I need to send Alex (son of my bff who calls me "other mamma") a text to wish him a Happy Birthday. So let me go do that while I am thinking about it.

Why thank you KQ. yep birthdays in my family are pretty crazy. stepsister the 24th, me and my dad the 25th, mom the 26th, my bff's son Alex and my mother's husband on the 27th (note I do not call him my stepfather he's "my mother's husband") so 6 birthdays in 4 days
