It will under-perform and be massively over-budget, and the unions will be the only ones to benefit, rest assured.
Typical of almost any govt. project.
I'm a union member. And like I said, haven't seen a penny. Don't expect to.
1. This will never be completed.
2. By the time they give up on building it the price tag will be near to $250 billion.
3. The democrats will blame the republicans for yet another one of their failures.
Of course it's the Republicans fault, their predictions of failure came true.
If you are suggesting what I think you are, I'm sure existing rail would be more than adequate.
Sorry, I just don't buy into that.

People have been calling the ObamaCare disaster a "trainwreck". Wonder if someday soon they'll start calling the CA "high speed rail" disaster an "ObamaCareWreck."
How can they go off the rails on a crazy train if in the five years since voters approved the project not one rail has been laid?
Could it be that the aim of the project has nothing to do with establishing any sort of public transportation infrastructure but simply to drain the private sector through punitive taxation based on the vague premise that at some future date the public good will have been served? Business as usual for liberals.
Interesting that this was approved in 2008- the start of the "great recession". Over a half a billion has been burned yet nothing has been actually built and I am assuming that no meaningful job creation has happened (likely a selling hook to get public support) and yet this report boasts significant progress? At least here in Corrupticut, our magic bus to nowhere boondoggle is actually getting constructed- albeit with politically connected, no-bid and top dollar union labor.
