California moves to let felons serve on juries. Yes folks, having illegal aliens, early releases and the homeless committing felonies isn’t enough for the morons in Sacramento. Now they want to ensure no one gets convicted of anything by letting convicted felons on juries.

  • A felon isn’t my peer if I’m on trial. Already showed they don’t have great judgment. But sure. Let’s have the judge people on trial.

  • Why not, they already serve in the Assembly, Senate and Governor's office..what the fuck difference does it make at this point.....

  • Finally, Now we have a source of people, who are not paid to serve government employees and retires, who think 13.00 a day is fair wages to serve their sentence on a jury

    It might actually help balance juries that usually are NOT very reflective of all of society.

    When you pay your time you should be able to return to society.
    Forever punishment creates an underclass, breeds resentment, dis-harmony and makes it more harder to live a normal productive life and overall will increase crime.

    • I agree with you. I've never understood the urge to keep marginalizing people after they've served their time. Seems to me, if people don't want felons rejoining society as citizens, what they're saying is the sentence wasn't long enough. I think our sentencing guidelines are woefully out of date. The issue of full citizenship rights, which we're talking about here: why in the hell is a guy who embezzled from his employer, served his time, and paid his restitution, treated the same as a first-degree murderer? There are felonies and there are felonies. Not every ex-felon should have his citizenship rights taken away for the rest of his life.

      On the other hand, I don't know why murderers and child rapists are ever allowed outside of prison again. I just don't get it. We've got teenagers who got caught selling drugs serving longer sentences than murderers and child rapists, and their vote was taken away permanently before they were even old enough to vote. And a century ago anything you wanted to buy in the way of drugs was available at the corner drug store over the counter. So essentially we're punishing them with life sentences for something my grandfather could do legally.
