Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

If they are One billion short by December, Higher Education gets the cuts..Oooohhh what about those grants for Illegal Aliens kids?????????? Who is gonna pay for that, Another billion shortfall and cuts for welfare and med-i-cal (Kalifornia's version of Medicare)...Car taxes (registration) will go up/Sales tax will go up/Businesses will continue to leave the state and the liberals will keep on passing meaningless stupid legislation thinking only they can fix the problem. I would bet anyone a months pay that Kalifornia will be the "Greece" of the USA...and when it happens there will be the home shopping riots so the poor can get a new TV and 300 dollar shoes, and there won't be enough cops, and crime will skyrocket and Governor Moonbean will still have his head in his anal canal looking for spare change.
Sales taxes are going up at least .5%. I know quite a few people who are actively trying to move out of CA - including me. Brown signs these laws knowing full well they can't be funded.
Michigan could use more conservatives :)
I grew up in Michigan - some parts are still amazing. Others, not so much.
Flint is nice, especially this time of year...
Now that Michael Moore doesn't lkive there anymore.
I'll have to call my brother in law out it Sac to let him know he can anticipate an eleventy percent tax increase to make up the shortfall.
If he's lived here any length of time, he already know that his taxes will be raised drastically, and often.
