I think that pretty much tells us all we need to know.
John Conyers is 83 years old and has been in Congress since 1965...that's 47 years of plundering the taxpayers. If anything, Conyers is more crooked than Charlie Rangel, he's certainly more ignorant.
Worst of all, in spite of their crimes, these two superannuated pirates keep getting elected and reelected and so they wield enormous power based on their seniority. So long as they bring home the pork (i.e. my tax dollars), they'll never lose an election.
P.S. Conyers' Congressional district covers the city of Detroit, he has represented the city during its long, disastrous decline. John Conyers' wife, a former member of the Detroit city council, is currently in federal prison for accepting bribes.

It's time Charlie, time to give it up, time to stop pretending you're nothing other than a crooked political hack who's outstayed his welcome. Time to go to jail for tax evasion and for lying under oath.

Wholehearted thumbs up. Not that you did, but this is where people usually inject term limits into the discussion and I hate it. In an armchair, big picture kinda way, the system isn't broken, it's that intellectually lazy sheeple keep sending these people back. Justice Roberts said it (paraphrase), " it's not the courts job to protect people from their political decisions." Vote 'em out or deal with it.
If Charlie Rangle suffered from "equal justice" as I would have - he would now be a convicted Federal Tax Evader Felon - serving time in a Federal Country Club somewhere, and would not even be eligible to hold office - or God forbid, even vote! This is what happens when the law is selectively enforced.
Here here, Rangel should be in prision for tax evasion.
