I heard some Moron from New York University praising Chavez for such a wonderful job in pulling his country out of poverty. I decided he must live in an alternate universe.

  Exactly. This is normal in Latin America. The sad part is that the chances of the other guy doing a better job are high because the one that won, won in an underhanded way.
