Chicago Adds Ridiculous 9% “Cloud Tax” on Netflix and Other Streaming Services. If we ran Netflix we would stop streaming services to Chicago immediately. They elected Rahmbo, let them live with their decision.

Subscriptions to netflix or anything else they come up with will fall like a big rock from altitude. Americans do not like to be taxed for everything.
I respectfully disagree. The people who elect democrats, which are in a majority in Chicago, are like frogs in a pot of water. Most will stay in the water as it is slowly raised to a boil an perish. A few will jump out and move to another pot where the cycle will start for them again. They may grumble but will pay the tax and I expect Netflix will see little change. Those not supporting democrats will have just another motivation to move to a different area, if they have not already done so.
Water being heated = taxes being raised in this analogy.
Meanwhile, 4 people have been killed, another 35 wounded in gun related violence and the weekend isn't over yet. Yep, it looks like the fools running Shitngo have their priorities straight.
If they would only STAY home and watch netflix, everything would be okay in the windy city....(snark)

Like I ever needed yet another reason to never Chicago.....and I do not even stream or use the cloud.
Shitcago is really grasping at straws now, it's not as if this pittance of a tax will help close their deficit. The leechfvcks at the top will vote themselves and the other leechfvcks raises and negate any gains from a stupid tax that will only serve to piss people off.
Lets be honest, if you asked progressives about taxation, & what is the purpose of it, they could not give you the correct answer.
BTW, this should also apply to cell phone billing, in particular for Apple products that use the cloud for additional storage.

$12million in revenue, like $5 a person or something? You are really going to risk pissing of the kind of people that are streaming Netflix for $12million. An idea, not a very good political one.
Excellent article in that is shows how big business actually can encourage big govt. Only large operations can deal with ever more complex govt regulations. You can see it all the time in business where there is almost a reverse 'regulatory capture' where firms gets rules passed that favor themselves- or really disfavor smaller players. Since it is a broad tax, it really doesn't affect NEtflix since everyone has to pay it.

I agree, if I owned Netflix, I'd shut down all of Chicago and watch for the backlash.
